Electric Multiple Unit EN76 – “ELF”

EN76 „ELF” – (Electric Low Floor) a modern, normal-gauge, electric multiple unit, designed for operation in urban agglomeration as well as regional and interregional traffic. The vehicles are manufactured by PESA Bydgoszcz SA. The vehicle was first presented at InnoTrans in Berlin in September 2010.

The EN76 vehicles designed for service in the Silesian Province are four-segment vehicles which have been in service since 2011. The Silesian Railways own a total of nine vehicles of this type. They are characterised by an air-conditioned, single-space and compartmentless interior that provides a high level of travel comfort. The vehicles are adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility, with wide doors, access ramps, places to put wheelchairs and a large toilet.
