Koleje Śląskie – 15 years

On 8 April 2010, the memorandum of association of Koleje Śląskie – the first non-state-owned passenger rail operator in the Silesian Voivodeship since 1884 – was signed.

Our company launched the transport operations on 1 October 2011 on the Gliwice – Częstochowa (daily) and Częstochowa – Wisła Głębce lines (on weekends).

We operate 21 regular and 4 seasonal railway lines in the Silesian Voivodeship. We move nearly 22 million passengers a year – this is an impressive result, which prompts us to continuously invest in our people and modern rolling stock.

Koleje Śląskie is starting a new chapter in its development journey. The first nine modern Impuls 2 trains, manufactured by Nowy Sącz-based Newag, are already on the routes of the Silesian Voivodeship. This is just the start of the company’s largest-ever investment in rolling stock, with 31 new trains added to our fleet by the end of 2027.
