EN75 – described by its manufacturer as ‘FLIRT’ (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train). Vehicles destined for the Polish market are assembled at STADLER’s facilities in Siedlce. The first vehicles from this manufacturer made their début in 2004.
The ‘FLIRT’ EMUs arrived in the Silesian Province in 2008. The vehicles began operating in the Silesian Railways on 1 October 2011. The Polish units intended for passenger service in Silesia received the EN75 designation, and their painting refers to the colours of the Śląskie Province (yellow and blue). The Silesian Railways has a total of four vehicles of this type.
The vehicle consists of four segments, of which the two outermost ones are the powered segments and the central ones are the trailer segments. The comfort of the journey, which is influenced by comfortable seats, efficient air conditioning, a spacious interior and adequate soundproofing, means that even a long train journey can be enjoyable. The vehicles are adapted to serve people with reduced mobility. They have a single-space interior, a large toilet, ramps and wheelchair spaces.
